Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - In the Attawapiskat area there are both Early Jurassic and Proterozoic kimberlites. The early Jurassic kimberlites are centred at approximately latitude 52 45N and 83 50 W. These kimberlites occur along the Winisk River fault trend and occur where this fault splays toward James Bay. The kimberlite distribution pattern is elongated northwest along the Winisk River fault, parallel to the NW trend of the Proterozoic Sutton Inlier (120 km north of Attawapiskat). The Early Jurassic kimberlites lie just south of the NE trending Cape Henrietta Maria Arch.

Aug 31, 2009 (A Wilson) - The kimberlite consists of two distinctive bodies. The Victor Main is the larger of the two bodies and may consist of up to three separate crater events. The Victor southwest is located to the southwest of the Victor Main pipe. It appears to be separated by a poorly delineated section of in-situ country rock. The kimberlite has been described as a hypabyssal macrocrystic to hypabyssal segregationary kimberlite locally containing Paleozoic limestone xenoliths or Paleozoic limestone breccia. Garnet, ilmenite and clinopyroxene megacrysts have been observed. Basement and mantle xenoliths are also present in the kimberlite. The garnets are almost exclusively G-9. Chromite is uncommon and has a chemistry that falls outside of the fields of chromite intergrown with diamond.

Aug 31, 2009 (A Wilson) - Monopros has recovered 96 macrodiamonds from the drill core sampled in 1997. By 2001 DeBeers Canada Exploration Ltd. had outlined a resource of 36.2 million tonnes of kimberlite with a diamond grade of 0.42 carats per tonne.
