Province: Superior
Subprovince: Sachigo
Terrane: North Caribou
Geological Age: Archean
Oct 20, 2009 (A Wilson) - Proterozoic kimberlites have been found within the Sachigo Subprovince. The distribution of these intrusions appears to be random but restricted to the Sachigo. The age of these intrusions makes them coeval with the Mid continent Rift (Lake Superior Basin) and the tectonic and/or alkalic rock magmatism along the Kapuskasing Structural Zone and the Grenville Front.

Oct 20, 2009 (A Wilson) - The rock has been identified as a serpentinized hypabyssal kimberlite with a poorly developed weathering profile at the top. The log indicates the presence of unclassified xenoliths, diorite and granitic gneiss xenoliths, but only traces of the KIM suite. The xenoliths are serpentinized and the kimberlite matrix includes large olivine megacrysts.
