Feb 28, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The showings occur at the eroded, down-dip end of a gently westward-dipping diabase sheet, which structurally would appear to underlie the diabase sill further to the west, because the latter occurs at a higher elevation. Assessment work files show the area in which the mineralized lava occurs to be about 30.5 m long, 15.2 m wide, and 4.6 m thick. The host rock of the native copper mineralization is a locally highly vesicular, hematite-stained, lava with what appear to be sedimentary fragments (xenoliths) enclosed. Examination of polished sections of a mineralized hand specimen shows some vesicles filled with native copper. Cuprite rims some of the native copper fillings (Geul, 1973).
