Mineralization Comments

Feb 28, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - This showing is located in the west half of Mining Location 12 A, Crooks Township, along the southern margin of a northeast-trending olivine diabase dike, adjacent to Rove sedimentary rocks. Massive nickeliferous pyrrhotite veined by chalcopyrite occurs in narrow vertical fractures and lens-like bodies. A grab sample of the showing taken J.Geul yielded 0.17 percent Cu, 0.15 percent Ni and traces of Pd (Guel, 1973). Cu-Ni mineralization occurs (1) as nickeliferous pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite blebs and interstitial fillings within gabbro and (2) as lensoid segregations and fracture fillings marginal to diabase dyke walls (Shklanka, 1969).
