Lithology Comments

Mar 24, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - The iron formation is reported to be interbedded with mafic volcanics in a sequence that also includes felsic volcanics and sediments. The iron formation is extremely deformed and hosts small ragged lenticular bodies of mafic volcanics. The plunge of the minor folds is consistently steep to the northwest (AFRI 52A05NW0005).

Mineralization Comments

Mar 24, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - Magnetite-quartz iron formation, outlining a crude M-shaped pattern, is associated with lean iron formation and quartzite containing some disseminated pyrite. Two main areas of iron formation, one 1400 x 86 ft, the other 700 x 80 ft, with estimated iron content up to 30% (Shklanka, 1968).
