Exploration History

1947- Andowan Mines (affiliation Snyder Mining Company) conducted preliminary examination and exploration, including dip needle surveys on ironstone units in the area and drilled a fence of holes across a magnetic ironstone unit. A 500 lb sample assayed 31.2%Fe, 48.9 %Si. 1979: W. Hayne of Thunder Bay did prospecting work. 1983: Corporate Oil and Gas Ltd. conducted geological mapping and soil sampling. 1989: MCS Capital Ltd. performed a magnetic and VLF-EM survey. 1991: J. Parres conducted prospecting and stripping and conducted a VLF survey. 1992: J. Parres conducted VLF-EM and magnetometer surveys. 1997: T. Kukkee staked the property and conducted bedrock stripping of a caldera-like structure. 1998: T. Kukkee conducted prospecting. J. Mealey & L. Mealey conducted line cutting, magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys. DST Consulting. (2000) reports 3 old trenches similar in relief to local topographic features (2X2X20; depth, width, height). 2002: Staked by P. Kukkee. 2006: Gold Cache optioned the property and conducted trenching. 2009: Gold Cache conducted trenching, geological mapping and prospecting. 2011: Gold Cache conducted trenching.
