Sep 13, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - Channel sampling produced a weighted average of 4.06 gpt over 2.6 m. Resident Geologist 1980 report of activities states 14 grab samples and chip samples from the Mattawin Occurrence Trenches yielded the best results give 12.2 gpt gold from a selected grab sample, and 011.2 gpt gold across a 2 m wide chip sample.

Mineral Record Details

Site Visit Information

Date: Jun 26, 2017

Geologist: Dorothy Campbell

Notes: Three exploration trenches located within the Dawson Road Lots West Zone were visited by RGP staff on June 26, 2017. These trenches were recently re-opened, and correspond to Lynx-Canada trench numbers TR-2, TR-3 and TR-4 (Bartley 1980). These trenches expose portions of the altered, deformed and gold mineralized chert-argillite horizon that has been the main focus of historical exploration efforts on this property. Rock types observed in this area were consistent with those mapped by Lavigne, Scott and Sarvas (1991). Grab samples were collected and sent to OGS GeoLabs in Sudbury for analysis.
