Mineralization Comments

Feb 24, 2020 (B Schnieders) - Four well-defined brecciated zones, from 2 feet to 8 feet wide and spaced at intervals of about 20 feet, trend parallel to each other N. 55 degrees E. The Nipigon sandstone, which here forms a thin layer over the granite has been step-faulted down on the southeastward, the total dislocation being about 5 feet. The brecciated zones are cemented with gash veins and vein stockworks composed of quartz and amethyst, carrying small specks of chalcopyrite. Nothing of economic interest is exposed at this locality. The zones may be traced for about 400 feet. At the east end a small amount of galena and sphalerite occurs with the quartz (Hawley, 1930).
