Mineralization Comments

Feb 24, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - The mineralized zone is found on a low ridge surrounded by drift. It trends N. 35 E. and can be traced for 5 chains. Two pits have been sunk, one in granite and one in biotite schist. In the former is a 3-inch vein in which massive galena occurs with sphalerite and traces of chalcopyrite. It is reported as 13 inches wide at a depth of 20 feet. The vein in the schist includes numerous veinlets within 12 inches. It carries chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite in a calcite-barite gangue (Hawley, 1930).
