Access Description: The float was picked up in a gravel pit on the Driftstone Lake Road. The occurrence is located in the south central portion of Hele tp.

Geological Age: Paleoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (B Schnieders) - A float boulder was discovered in a gravel pit by E. Dampier. The rock was described as highly magnetic, (magnetite-rich). dark black, no litho structure visible, possible covellite? blebs, plus chalcopyrite, and extensive malachite development on surface. Sample 91-BDA-01 assayed 0.005 oz./t Au, 1.188 % Cu, 0.018 % Ni and 0.021 % Zn (Resident Geologist's Files, Thunder Bay). The area is mapped (Map 2236) as diabase overlying Sibley Group metasedimentary rocks.
