Lithology Comments

Jan 13, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - The showing is an out crop of quartz-albite-microcline-muscovite pegmatite, measuring 150 feet in length and up to 50 feet in width. The pegmatite strikes N75W (E.G. Pye 1955 property report, Thunder Bay RGP mineral deposit files).

Mineralization Comments

Jan 13, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Tanton (1927) reported beryl crystals up to 2” long in a granite pegmatite. E.G. Pye reported beryl crystals up to 6” long and 1.5” in diameter found associated with the quartz, and appear to be concentrated along the north side of the exposure. At one point at the east end of the exposure, a section of pegmatite measuring 3 feet by 3 feet contained approximately 4% beryl. The beryl content of the exposure as a whole is less than 1%. The J. Cyr property on the westerly of 2 islands in the Maligne River contains a little scattered molybdenite and garnet and lies on strike with the P. Carrigan showing (E.G. Pye 1955 property report, Thunder Bay RGP mineral deposit files).
