Access Description: The prospect is easily accessible through the all-weather gravel road, the Duckworth road, which branches from the paved road leading to the former Inco Shebandowan Mine, some 2 kilometers from Highway 11.
1896: Au first reported by OGS geologist on the shores of Gold Creek. Historically, the property has been explored for Fe and Au mineralization associated with Fe formations; 1943: Gunflint Fe mines- prospecting, channel sampling, DDH (12 holes, 852 m) to test coincident Matawin Fe formation with Au mineralizations; 1956: Monpre Mining Company- looked at the Matawin Fe formation and DDH, mapping, geophysics- and this delineated 100 Mt of 30% Fe and open pit pre-feasibility study completed; 1958: G. Chilian- trenching, DDH (x10); 1972: D. Scali and V. Borschneck- Airborne mag, electromag, and DDH (x3) (see Scali occurrence MDI); 1971: Noranda Exploration Co. Ltd.- linecutting, ground geophysics, DDH; 1983: Jalna Resources- ground and airborne geophysics, mapping, trenching, sampling (several Au mineralized zones were found: North, South, Ternowesky and Creek Zones); 1984: Anaconda Canada Exploration Ltd.- DDH (x13) and found many anomalous Au values (I-zone, North Zone, T-zone and Creek Zone); 1985-1989: Noranda- magnetics, gravity surveys, geochemical sampling, mapping, channel sampling; 1987: Inco Gold Company- prospecting, trenching, DDH (see mineralization note); 1994: OGS mapping of Duckworth township; 1991: MNDM Regional Airborne survey; 1995: Anaconda- ground geophysics, trenching, DDH; 1995: Wing Resources Ltd. drilled the T-Zone; 1995-1997: Landore Resources Inc.- ground and airborne geophysics, trenching, DDH (x7) in the I-zone; 2004: Ternowesky, Mengold, and Soloman Resources (joint venture) DDH (x6) and released and updated NI 43-101 Resources, soil sampling, and IP survey. 2009: Mengold Resources Inc. initiated a 1000 m DDH program, focusing on the Centre Zone, based on coincident Cu and Zn geochemical and geophysical anomalies.

Mar 14, 2013 (Shannon Zurevinski) - The Shebandowan GB represents a post-Keewatin intracratonic basin assemblage consisting of a suite of volcanic and sedimentary rocks. The volcanics in the Shebandowan Mine area have been dated at 2689 Ma (Corfu and Stott 1986). The units consist of supracrustal rocks of ultramafic, mafic, intermediate and felsic metavolcanic rocks of the Shebandowan greenstone belt. The metavolcanics and metasediments are intruded by peridotites, gabbros, and feldspar porphyries (the Shebandowan Lake Stock and KekeKuab Lake Pluton). Late diabase and lamprophyre dikes cut all of the units. The property area is mainly E-W trending volcanics, potassic rich calc-alkaline rocks (Shegelski 1980). Related deposits i the area are 1) the Shebandowan Ni-Cu-PGE mine on the Crayfish Creek Fault (14 km NW of the I-zone); 2) North Coldstream Cu Mine- 32 km W-NW; and 3) Ardeen Property (aka Huronian) Au Mine (Pele Mountain) and 4) the Moss Lake Property.

Aug 22, 2016 (Shannon Zurevinski) - JF Scott Field Visits: 15U 713397/5382986 Inco Dike 3 V-Zone @ 33.9 g/t grab samples;
Jan 31, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - Inco's DDH 78423 was drilled on the V Zone in 1988. Assays up to 0.89 ppm Au over 1. 5 m at 5 m depth were returned from a banded iron formation and 0.485 ppm Au over 1.4 m at 37 m depth from a granodiorite (Assessment report 52B09SE0016). Inco collected a grab sample that returned 33.9 g/t Au from the V Zone (Mineral Deposit files, Thunder Bay).
