Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: Access to the showing is via Trans-Canada Highway 11/17 and Highway 11 from Thunder Bay to Kashabowie and from there it can be reached by a secondary Highway 802 and a major logging road. The Trans-Canada Highway 11 passes just 2.5 kilometres north of the Property. The showing is then is accessed from the Burchell Lake Road, which branches from Highway 802, using ATV and then by foot.



Exploration History

1985-86: J. Lukosius-Sanders completed a VLF survey and geological mapping. 1987: Discovery West Corp. optioned the property and carried out trenching, line-cutting, IP and Magnetic surveys. 1988: A 14 hole drill program (2 118 m), including 1 DDH on the showing, was undertaken plus trenching-stripping. 1989: J. Lukosius-sanders carried out prospecting and sampling. 1990: J. Lukosius-Sanders received an OPAP grant and completed mapping and prospecting along grid-lines. 2002: Alto Ventures staked the area of the showing. 2004: Alto Ventures contracted Clark Exploration to complete a prospecting program over the west side of Burchell Lake. 2005: Alto Ventures flew a 250 line-km VTEM and magnetic survey over the greater Coldstream property. 2009: Foundation Resources completed a geological mapping and geochemical sampling over areas of historic work as well as shear zones and areas known to host quartz-feldspar porphyries. 2011: Prospecting and sampling program and two geophysical surveys were conducted over the showing.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 10, 2018 (Andrew Tims) - Chlorite-sericite schist in porphyritic intermediate volcanic; 0.18% Zn and 686 ppb Au (Lavigne et al., 1991).


Oct 10, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The best assay from DDH 88-1 was 305 ppb Au at 128.3 m, in a dark grey volcanic with paler-coloured calcareous horizons and up to 5-8% sulphides (AFRI 53B10SE0077).
