Sep 27, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The host rock is described in company reports as chert, which locally grades to cherty rhyolite. The chert band strikes easterly and dips to the south at 80-85 degrees (Giblin, 1964).

Sep 27, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - Fractures in the chert contain pyrite, chalcopyrite, and quartz, over an area 27 feet long by 12 feet wide. DDH 6, drilled in 1952, assayed 1.98% Cu and 0.05% Zn at 68’ depth. DDH 5 assayed 0.46% Cu at 19’ and 5.08% Cu at 90’ depth (Giblin, 1964). The areas at the contact of the andesite and cert horizons are highly anomalous in copper and gold. Usually the chalcopyrite and malachite is present along fractures. Zones of shearing (chlorite-sericite schists) are also abundant close to or within the felsic volcanics. They are also highly anomalous in gold, copper, and zinc in places. Feldspar and quartz feldspar porphyries were sampled and returned highly anomalous gold values. Samples collected in 1992 on the eastern shore of Fountain Lake assayed up to 3376 ppm Cu and 1010 ppb Au (AFRI 52B10SE0007).
