Point Location Description: Stripping and trenching

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: The Day Lake Occurrence is located on patented mining claim FF4139, about 30km east of Atikokan or approx. 195km west of Thunder Bay. Access is via Highway 11 about 3.5km west of the junction of Highways 11 and 623, about 1/2 the distance to the Nym Lake access road. From Highway 11, north on the Atiko Gold Mines Ltd. road about 8 km which has been maintained in the past by Ontario - Minnisota Pulp Company. About 0.5km short of the gold mine, one travels about 2km east from the road to the eastern shore of Day Lake.



Exploration History

1900s: Property likely discovered, minor stripping and trenching 1928 - 1945: the property changed hands many times little recorded work 1951: James C. Walker of River Rouge, Michigan acquired a patent and full interest in mining claim FF4139.
