Lithology Comments

Feb 21, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Country rocks are foliated and gneissic varieties of trondhjemites. Sheets, dykes, and stringers of massive leucocratic trondhjemite cut the country rocks. Diabase occurs crosscutting all other units in northeast trending dykes. A major lineament runs through the mine property and can be traced for 27 km northeast from Sapawe Lake.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 21, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Quartz veins occur in a shear zone associated with the regional lineament. The veins and shearing strike northeast with near vertical southeast dips. Two main veins are exposed on the property. The south vein, which had the shaft sunk on it, has a strike length of at least 60 m and a maximum width of 4.9 m. The north vein is located 305 m northeast of south vein (at UTM Zone 15, 626717 m E, 5408636 m N) and is exposed for 15 m along strike with a maximum width of 8.5 m. Both veins are composed of coarse grey quartz with minor pyrite, arsenopyrite, and ankerite. Wall rocks are chloritic schists containing trace to abundant pyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, ankerite, and quartz. One fleck of gold was found in a dump sample of chloritic wall rocks. Samples assayed from 0.003 to 0.080 g/t Au (Wilkinson, 1982). Sample 81BMM-1 assayed 0.02 opt Au and 3.64 opt Ag. Sample 82BMM-1 assayed 0.08 opt Au. A 15 kg bulk sample of Minto dump material was collected for heap leach tests returned assays of 0.022 opt Au and 0.28 opt Ag. The material was 95% white to smokey quartz material containing <1% pyrite and arsenopyrite, with chlorite seams and minor carbonate (Schnieders and Dutka, 1985). Assessment file 52B14SW0052 mentions the finding of cobalt bloom on the property. Samples taken from the north vein in 1996 assayed up to 3.65 and 6.330 ppm Au (Assessment file 52B14SW0072).
