Lithology Comments

Sep 14, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Narrow bands of ironstone, ranging in width from one centimeter to one meter, are common within the siltstone unit. Folding of these rocks and Injections of quartz as pods and veins were observed. The ironstone is often interlayered with jasper, but more frequently it is composed of massive magnetite. Near the eastern end of the west group, sediments and Ironstones are interbedded with felsic and mafic volcanics. Individual units of the sediments appear discontinuous in this area and are difficult to follow for any distance (Assessment report 52C09NE0009).

Mineralization Comments

Sep 14, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Small bands of iron formation are found within the sedimentary rocks. The ironstone is often folded and contains small quartz pods and veins in these areas. Sulphides are rarely seen in the veins. One gold value of 1.37 g/t Au was obtained from sulphide-bearing sediments along the claim boundary of 965030 and 031 (Assessment report 52C09NE0009).
