Access Description: The occurrence may be accessed by boat on Bad Vermilion Lake the by foot south of Finger Bay. It is not known whether the portage between Finger Bay and Shoal Lake is still in existence or not.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (P Hinz) - Lawson (1913) and Parsons (1918) both discuss the presence of molybdenite in conglomerates of the Bad Vermilion Lake area. Mapping by Woods et al. (1976) identified two locations containing molybdenite. The first location is on the south shore of Island Bay, on patent FF5497. The second location is on the east shore of Dumbell Lake, it is marked as a gold, bismuth and molybdenite occurrence.
