Mineral Deposit Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
mafic metavolcanics 1 host

Lithology Comments

06/04/1999 (P Hinz) - Mafic metavolcanic rocks host the veins. It appears that some small quartz feldspar porphyry's intrude the volcanics. The rocks are strongly carbonatized, locally with ankerite. Quartz veins strike generally 038-90.

Mineralization Comments

06/04/1999 (P Hinz) - Samples collected from the waste dump contained galena, pyrite, sphalerite and some visible gold. The veins were quartz-ankerite/carbonate veins.

12/07/2005 (C Ravnaas) - GPS location for main shaft and dump pile. UTM Zone 15. 544255E/5400537N

09/29/2020 (T Pettigrew) - A felsic crystal tuff with quartz veins throughout returned 0.48 oz/t Au, 0.86 oz/t Au, and 36.4 g/t Au, with visible gold (Assessment report 52C16SW0010). The Sutherland occurrence yielded assays up to 0.31 oz/t Au from quartz veins in 1937 (Blackburn and Hinz, 1996)
