Mineralization Comments

Jan 14, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Q Zone consists of a steeply dipping silicified zone up to 5 feet (1.5 m) wide in medium-grained mafic rocks. It trends about N.30E and is reported to be mineralized in places with sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, pyrite and galena. Gold assays are said to be up 0.36 ounces (12 grams) per ton. Two holes were drilled across the zone but failed to intersect significant mineralization. About 700 feet (215 m) east-southeast of the "Q" zone, a pit has been sunk on a quartz-bearing shear zone less than 3 feet (1 m) wide, but although arsenopyrite has been noted in the quartz, only low gold assays were obtained (Davies, 1978). Beard and Garratt (1976) reported assays of 0.72 oz Au/ton, 7.5% Zn, and 0.1% Ni.
