'Two groups of claims were originally staked by J. Longe and C. Edwards, east of waterfall Lake. A small group of eight claims, lay ¾ of a mile north on strike from the larger group of 31 contiguous claims. In 1951 these claims were optioned to Conwest Exploration Company Limited and, in 1952 Edlon Mines Limited was incorporated to acquire the property. Under the direction of Conwest Exploration, geological, mag and SP surveys were carried out and some stripping, trenching and drilling was done. In 1953, two of the holes drilled were in the vicinity of a contact between mafic and felsic metavolcanics. Prior to 1957, seven holes totalling 1,409 feet had been put down by Edlon Mines. In 1957, 14 short holes were drilled on the claims adjoining the Maybrun Mines property. Edlon Mines Limited has been idle since 1963.' (Kenora Historical File 52F/05NE00046 - Ref. Cu 12)
Province: Superior
Geological Age: Precambrian
Feb 15, 2011 (J Bongfelt) - 'The claim area is underlain principally by andesite and diorite with some porphyry intrusions. All are of Precambrian age and are highly folded and metamorphosed. These exposed massive, intermediate to mafic metavolanics are pillowed in part with some felsic metavolcanics as well as with a few porphyry dykes. Carbonate stringers occur in most of the rock and specks of pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite were observed.' (Kenora Historical File 52F/05NE00046 - Ref. Cu 12)

Feb 15, 2011 (J Bongfelt) - 'Minor sulphides were encountered but assays showed no gold and only small amounts of copper. Drilling in the northwest corner of K-15419 on a zone containing disseminated pyrite, pyrrhotite and a little chalcopyrite, produced similar results.'
