Sep 26, 2017 (C Ravnaas) - Grade: 0.72 opt Au across 3.0 m along 17.1 m length.
Sep 26, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - 9 quartz veins have been reported in 2 parallel zones 1000 ft apart. The main zone is 500 ft wide in schist and strikes 106 degrees with a vertical dip (Neilson and Bray, 1981). Gold is found in association with disseminated pyrite and narrow quartz-carbonate veins in schistose mafic metavolcanics. The small granite intrusion located east of the Wampum shaft also contains disseminated pyrite. The Wampum shaft is located in the north zone which is situated on the northern limb of a steeply plunging synformal structure near the contact with a metagabbro sill. A sample of quartz material taken from the Wampum dump by L. Kaye assayed 0.07 opt Au (2.2 gpt) (Kaye, 1973). Assays from the 2007-8 drill program include 9.05 ppm Au from DDH WL07-02, 106.19 ppm Au from DDH WL07-02, and 10.88 ppm Au from WL07-05 (AFRI 20000003462). Sample 38587 from Trench 16 assayed 24.79 gpt Au. Sample 38590 from Trench 12 assayed 77.62 gpt Au (AFRI 20000002920).
