Exploration History

1899-1903: Gold was discovered in August, 1899 by prospectors working for Anglo Canadian Gold Estates Ltd. Two shafts (110 & 33 ft), with 111 ft of lateral development; one 48 ft adit; trenching. The property was abandoned in 1903 - no assays are available. 1937-38: The main showing was located & trenched over an area of 700' x 160'. It is believed that two short diamond drill holes were put down in 1938. No attempt was made at this time to connect the shaft area and the main showing. 1972: a VLF electromagnetic survey was performed by Canex Placer Limited under a working option from Aggressive Mining Ltd. Canex performed a magnetometer survey in 1973 and drilled 7 DDH. Canex dropped its option in 1974. 1979: Nolan Lake Explorations Inc. acquired the property; a V.L.F. survey and some sampling was performed by F.T. Archibald. 1980: Nolan Lake Exploration drilled 5 DDH totalling 454 m. 2010: Cameron Gold Operation Ltd. acquired the property, conducted IP and resistivity surveys and sampling. 2011: Cameron Gold drilled 21 DDH totalling 2560.5 m.

Lithology Comments

Mar 10, 2011 (J Bongfelt) - 'The vein matter is a sheared porphyry that is practically a sericite schist. The quartz is very white and glassy. Mineralization consists of cubes of pyrite with some massive pyrite and chalcopyrite.' 'The gold values in the Sullivan shaft area, and the main showing are in a carbonate rich silicified and altered tuff with rhyolite dykes and stringers. The magnetic and electromagnetic anomalies parallel the contact between the younger gabbro intrusive and the volcanic andesite-tuff formation.' (Kenora Historical File 52F/05SE00014, Reliance)

Mineralization Comments

Sep 26, 2017 (J Bongfelt) - 'Grab samples assayed up to 7.78 oz./ton Au. Very little drilling completed during recent exploration programs.' (OFR 5713, p.114). Diamond Drill Hole 80-4, sample 8046: 0.10 oz/ton Au @ 182' (Kenora AF 52F/05SE, II-4, Nolan Lake Exploration). Diamond Drill Hole 81-1, sample 8114: 0.135 oz/ton Au @ 138' (Kenora AF 52F/05SE, II-6, Nolan Lake Exploration).

Sep 26, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - Gold at the Sullivan No 1 shaft occurs in association with pyrite in silicified pyroclastic unit, and in carbonate and quartz-veined mafic volcanic rocks with quartz feldspar porphyry. At the Sullivan No 2 shaft, carbonate-rich quartz veins occur at the contact between quartz feldspar porphyry in the hangingwall and gabbro in the footwall. Historic sampling of the workings has recorded assay values in the order of 3.0 gpt gold. Limited historic shallow diamond drilling has recorded up to 1.25 g/t Au over 0.8 m. Drilling in 2011 indicated that gold mineralization is primarily related to veining, although gold mineralization also occurs on the contacts of units, particularly the quartz-feldspar porphyry. A strong correlation between pyrite content and gold mineralization was observed. A secondary correlation between Arsenopyrite and gold was also observed in drill core. Assays from the 2011 drill program include 5.81 ppm Au in NSD-11-007, 11.4 ppm in NSD-11-012, and 9.28 ppm Au in NSD-11-014 (AFRI 2.55658).
