Exploration History

1983: Del Norte Chrome Corp. commissioned airborne magnetometer and VLFEM surveys. 1984: Silver Lake Resources optioned a 50% interest in the property and conducted ground VLFEM, magnetometer, and IP surveys, geological mapping, and soil sampling. Silver Lake Resources and Nuinsco Resources drilled a JV hole on their common boundary. 1985: Silver Lake drilled 4 DDH totalling 240 m in Sullivan Bay, and conducted soil sampling, rock sampling, and geological mapping. 1986: A 57 hole, 2668.8 m reverse circulation basal till sampling program was conducted across the ice of Sullivan Bay. An additional 4 DDH were drilled. Platinum Exploration Canada Inc. acquired a 50% interest in the property from Del Norte.

Lithology Comments

Mar 10, 2011 (J Bongfelt) - 'Drill holes RL-86-7A, RL-86-08, and RL-86-09 were all collared at 14+45W, 7+50N. These three holes were drilled at -45 degrees bearing S50 E, S25 E, and due south respectively. All holes were positioned to test the geometry and downward extension of a mineralized outcrop that consists of intermediate lapilli tuff located in close proximity to a gabbroic intrusion. Neither hole intersected mineralization equivalent to that observed on surface although a strongly silicified lapilli tuff similar to that hosting the gold mineralization on surface was encountered in RL-86-08 and RL-86-09. However, several geochemically anomalous zones were intersected within the gabbro. It has been determined that the intersected anomalous zones are attributable to very narrow mineralized quartz-feldspar veinlets.' (Kenora AF 52F/05SE, RRR-2, International Platinum Corp.)

Mineralization Comments
