Oct 11, 2017 (C Ravnaas) - Best assays: 2.17 opt Au, 20.3 ppm Ag, 37,558 ppm Cu. Grab sample assays returned highs of 3.76% and 1.56% Cu. Mineralization in the trench included pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, bornite, chalcocite, malachite and azurite. The trenches are underlain by chloritic and silicified mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks.
Oct 11, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Longe Trenches are described as having widespread disseminated to streaky pyrite, pyrrhotite, and chalcopyrite with local bornite and chalcocite occurring within chloritic, silicified mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks, 1300 to 1550 ft north of Rowan Lake. Local malachite and azurite is present within irregular carbonate stringers. Throughout the 9 trenches located over a 250 by 230 ft area, approximately 3-5% sulphide was observed. 19 of the 23 samples collected from the Longe Trenches returned gold values in excess of 20 ppb Au, with maximum values of 74.4 ppm Au, 20.3 ppm Ag, 37,588 ppm Cu, 14 ppm antimony, 21 ppm bismuth, and 4 ppm tungsten. The Jailbird Trench returned values of up to 88 ppb Au, 1.6 ppm Ag, and 15,569 ppm Cu from sampling of similar pyrite-pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite mineralization, 600 ft NNE of the Longe Trenches. The Trooper Trenches are described as having disseminated to ellipsoidal pyrrhotite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite (2%) occurs within recrystallized, hornfelsic metabasalt, 600 ft NNE of the Jailbird Trench. Geochemical values up to 22 ppb Au, 0.4 ppm Ag and 1617 ppm Cu were obtained (AFRI 52F05SE0068). Samples 624271 and 624272 collected during the 2008 program, located at UTM Zone 15, 456158 m E, 5467191 m N returned assays >10,000 ppm Cu (AFRI 20000003529).
