Exploration History

1982: Canadian Nickel Ltd. staked the claims and conducted a reconnaissance exploration program. 1983: Canadian Nickel conducted a mag and VLF geophysical survey. 1984: Canadian Nickel conducted an IP survey and drilled 5 DDH totalling 680.6 m. Canadian Nickel and Nuinsco Resources entered into a joint venture agreement. Echo Bay Mines Ltd. subsequently joined the joint venture.

Sep 01, 2017 (C Ravnaas) - Best assay: 0.125 opt Au (3.9 g/t Au) over 3.0 m in DDH 57773.


Sep 01, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - The 1984 drill program by Canadian Nickel tested two IP anomalies. These were found to be caused by pervasive 1-5% pyrite associated with quartz and carbonate within an altered schist zone. No anomalous gold values were detected in the core (AFRI 52F05SE0026).
