Sep 18, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - Pyritic, carbonatized and sericitized felsic volcanics sampled at the Kenty occurrence returned assays as high as 0.24 opt Au. During the drill program, mineralization was found to be associated with altered, pyritic felsic volcanics in contact with a narrow, slightly altered, pyritic mafic dyke. Altered rocks were observed to have a maximum width of approximately 20 ft but contained only weak gold mineralization. The best assay results obtained were 0.16 opt Au over 2.5 ft in hole SL-84-3 and 0.06 opt Au over 1 ft in SL-84-1 (AFRI 52F05SW0036). The main occurrence of gold mineralization is with sulphide minerals in a shear zone that has been traced over a distance of 400 m. The shear zone trends N80W and occurs in a felsic tuff. The gold is associated with the sulphide mineralization which consists of 2-4% pyrite, small amounts of pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite, and rare sphalerite (Davies and Morin, 1976).
