Jul 06, 2022 (Q Unknown) - The area is underlain by Early Precambrian basalt, gabbro and amphibolite surrounding granodiorite intrusives. Hornblende diorite occurs in the granodiorite masses near the contact with the volcanics. All rocks belong to the Superior Structural Province. Quartz veins occur in the volcanics in the map area.

Jul 06, 2022 (Q Unknown) - On the property quartz stringers occur in a carbonatized sheared zone striking N80°W in the amphibolite. The vein system is 1.2 metres wide and 58.0 metres long. Grab samples yielded 0.5 oz/ton Au. Later sampling gave low results, the best one assaying 0.24 oz/ton Au. (From OGS 1976, MDC016, p. 28) (SMDR NO.1830) The occurrence lie in what is believed to be a narrow belt of sediments. These are rather highly sheared, show some recrystallisation and in places are almost gneissic. Granite was observed about a mile to the south but the exact boundaries of the belt are not known. In the vicinity of the showing the sediments strike S 42° to 45° E with near vertical dip. A quartz vein system has been opened up at intervals for a length of 58.0 metres. The main part of this "break" would average about 70% quartz over a width of 1.2 metres for that length. Two parallel veins occurring within a few metres of the main zone have been exposed in a couple of pits. The main zone follows an arkose formation some 3.0 metres in width. Mineralization is weak and spotty. It consists of pyrite, chalcopyrite and some galena. Assays in the order of half an ounce were claimed to have been obtained from grab samples but there was no sign that any systematic sampling had been carried out. Channels were cut wherever possible. No recent work has been done on the showings and rusty sections were not sampled. A vein system averaging about 1.2 metres width for a length of 58.0 metres has been opened up at intervals. At least two close parallel veins occur but have been opened only in a couple of places. They occur in strongly sheared sediments and chances for further length would seem to be good.
