Mineralization Comments

Jul 06, 2022 (Q Unknown) - 4 ft x 190 ft at 0.5 opt. The HW 642 (Swamp Occurrence) consists of a small island of outcrop surrounded by a large, extensive swamp. The showing consists of a 1.2 m wide, 30 m long shear zone striking 094°-104°/65° S through fine-grained, dark green-gray, mafic metavolcanic flows. A few subparallel shears (085°) occur south of the main shear zone. The main zone hosts a stock work of quartz-iron carbonate veins and stringers containing disseminated pyrite, chalcopyrite, and bornite as well as flakes of visible gold. The wallrock is sericitic, chloritic, and variably carbonatized. Several small trenches have been sunk on the shear zone with the mineralization occurring in a trench at the edge of the outcrop. The trench was full of swamp water due to its proximity to the swamp. Although grab samples, taken by the author, assayed low values of gold, samples taken by Mr. Glatz assayed as high as 30.01 ounces Au/ton. (Unpublished Property visit, J.R. Parker, 1986)
