Access Description: Hyndman Tp.; 40 kilometres west of Ignace, 610.0 metres south of the Canadian Pacific Railway.



Exploration History

1955: prospecting, stripping and sampling. 1956: Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada Limited (Cominco Ltd.) carried out geological, geophysical surveys, trenching and bulk sampling. 140 m of DD in 3 holes.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 02, 2022 (Q Unknown) - 1955: Grab samples assayed: 0.26% Cu and 0.15% Ni; 0.19% Cu and 0.05% Ni. 1956 drilling: best intersections assayed: 0.6% Cu and 0.3% Ni over 1.3 m; 0.2% Cu and 0.2% Ni over 2.4 m. Bulk samples assayed 0.21-0.37% Cu and 0.27-0.33% Ni. Mineralization included disseminated pyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite in a hornblende diorite. Slightly more sulphide is present in sheared chloritized hornblende-rich phases of the diorite.
