Geology

Province: Superior

Geological Age: Precambrian

Geology Comments

Feb 14, 2011 (J Bongfelt) - ' The Eagle Lake area is underlain by an east-northeast trending, vertical to steeply dipping, north facing, locally isoclinally folded suite of Archean mafic to felsic metavolcanic rocks which are located in the western portion of the Wabigoon subprovince. The Wabigoon fault system separates these rocks from metasedimentary gneiss and granitoid rocks of the English river subprovince to the north.' (Kenora AF 52F/11NE, EE-15, International Platinum Corp., DD Report, p.5-6)

Lithology Comments

Feb 14, 2011 (J Bongfelt) - 'Area E: three lithogeochemical anomalies have been identified in this area. Two are associated wi th a major mafic to felsic contact, the third is associated with a stringer sulphide zone. All warrant additional exploration.' (Kenora AF 52F/11NE, EE-15, International Platinum Corp., DD Report, p.25)
