Mineralization Comments

Nov 22, 2017 (C Ravnaas) - Grade: 0.5% Zn, 0.5 opt Ag. The mineralized zone lies in sheared and recrystallized quartzite or quartz veins and contains sphalerite and pyrite with minor galena, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and magnetite. The zinc-silver deposit is 40 feet wide and 9000 feet long striking N80E and dipping 60 degrees N.

Nov 22, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - Early Precambrian metasediments with numerous discordant dykes of granite and pegmatite dominate the property. The Mineralized zone lies in sheared and recrystallized quartzite or quartz veins and contains sphalerite and pyrite with minor galena, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, and magnetite. The zinc-silver showing is 40 feet widde and 9000 feet long, striking N80E and dipping 60 degrees N. Noranda found a ‘heavy Pb/Zn section’ 39.0 to 39.3 feet in BP-69-5 (Noranda, 1969). The drill log from Rio Algom DDH #4 shows siliceous metasediments, 60.05-60.45 m, with 25% pyrrhotite, 1% pyrite, 3% sphalerite, 1% chalcopyrite. Semi-massive and massive pyrrhotite veins. Rio’s DDH 4 assayed 1030, 1420, and 1510 ppm Zn. DDH 8 assayed up to 1250 and 1700 ppm Zn. DDH 9 sample 15747 assayed 0.01% Cu, 0.01% Pb, 0.10% Zn, and 8.9 gpt Ag. DDH 9 sample 15748 assayed 0.03% Cu, 0.04% Pb, 0.71% Zn, and 18 gpt Ag (AFRI 52F13SE0005). A chip sample collected by Pryslak (1976) from Trench 1 gave an assay of 0.1% Zn, 0.05% Pb, and a trace amount of silver. A chip sample from Trench 2 assayed 0.1% Zn, 0.05% Pb, and 0.4 opt Ag. Chip samples collected by Davies (1968) were found to contain about 0.5% Zn and 0.5 opt Ag.
