Exploration History

1968: Noranda Exploration Ltd. drilled 4 DDH and intersected sulphide –bearing rock with anomalous Ag, Cu, Zn and Pb. 1969: Noranda conducted trenching, geological and geophysical surveys and drilled 5 DDH totalling 504.7 m. 1984-87: Rio Algom Exploration Ltd. conducted HLEM, magnetometer and VLF geophysical surveys and drilled 2649 m of DD in 11 holes. 1988-90: property was optioned to Mill City Gold who drilled 3849 m of DD in 10 holes and conducted an IP survey. Mill City dropped the option and the property reverted to Rio Algom. 1990: Rio Algom drilled 3 DDH. 1997: Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. conducted sampling, AEM, Amag, geological and geochemical surveys. 2001: Claims staked by Emerald Fields Resource Corp. 2001-03: Emerald Fields conducted prospecting and geological mapping. 2011: Claims staked by Keystone Associates Inc. 2013: Keystone transferred the property to Geofortune Resources Corp. Prospecting was conducted.

Geology

Province: Superior

Subprovince: Wabigoon

Geological Age: Archean

Geology Comments

Feb 27, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - The property encompasses mafic to felsic metavolcanics and metasediments of the Vermilion Bay Greenstone Belt. Geology of the Game Lake area consists of several east- to NE-striking, deeply north-dipping and south-facing rock units. The major units include mafic to felsic (mostly intermediate metavolcanics in the north and southwest parts of the property which grade into reworked metavolcanics and metasediments in the central and eastern parts of the area. Iron formation outcrops (both siliceous exide and sulphide types) are found scattered throughout the property. Granitic pegmatite and granite dykes and sills cut most rock units in the area and are thought to be a volatile-rich phase of the Dryberry Batholith.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 27, 2015 (Therese Pettigrew) - Massive to disseminated sulphides, mainly pyrite, and minor amounts of sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and galena occur in narrow widths of up to 1 ft along shear zones in a siliceous metasediment. The main zone of mineralization can be traced along for about 9900 ft. Other minor parallel shears in biotite, quartz, feldspar schists and gneisses, in places garnetiferous, contain minor amounts of sulphide. Samples of the more massive sulphides contain as high as 2.5 oz/t Ag, 10 percent Zn and 5 percent Pb (MP046 p. 26). Grab samples from the 1968-69 trenches returned assays as high as 11.44% Zn, 0.23% Cu, 6.21% Pb and 2.26 opt Ag. Mineralization included pyrrhotite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite. 1984-87 drilling by Rio Algom returned assays that ran as high as 2.08% Zn, 0.3% Cu and 0.56% Pb. Sillimanite and garnet identified in drill core. Mineralization included sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and pyrrhotite. 1988-90 drilling assays returned values as high as 9.9% Zn over 0.1 m. Mill City Gold’s GL-88-04 hole assayed 545 ppb Au, 12.7 ppm Ag, 498 ppm Cu and 515 ppm Zn from 189.61-189.65 m.
