Mineralization Comments

Jun 30, 2020 (D Farrow) - Pyritic basic volcanics host pods, lenses and nodules of py +/- cpy. Total length 160 ft. Probable width < 12 ft. (Sample # 827 Assayed 44.7% S). Pyritic metasediments exposed on the north shore of the lake over a distance of 1700 ft. display py +/- po and Pb in lenses of nodular aggregates in sheared biotite/quartz rock.

Jun 30, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - On the south shore of Maskinonge Lake, in lot 1, concession IV, pyritic mafic metavolcanics have been exposed in four trenches dug during the summer of 1946, showing a total length of 160 feet. The width is not fully exposed but it is prob ably less than 12 feet. The pyrite occurs, with a little chalcopyrite, as pods or lenses, as nodules, and as streaks in the associated rocks (Armstrong, 1950). DDH 74 reported massive pyrite and pyrrhotite associate with a graphite schist an a phyllitic sericite schist at a depth of 245-250 ft (Assessment report 52F16NW0038).
