1938 -1940: Red Cedar Gold Mines Limited staked and explored the Morris- Lumby Lake area. 1948-1950: L.C. Anderson staked the area and optioned the property to Newkirk and Company Limited who malgamated their holdings with 38 Noranda Mines claims.Noranda Mines carried out electromagnetic surveying, geological mapping, trenching and 736 meters of diamond drilling. 1974-75: Kerr Addison Mines staked and carried out line cutting, geophysical, geochemical, geological work and one 64 m diamond drill hole under the Anderson showing. 1977: Mining North carried out extensive line cutting, geophysical and geochemical surveys, geological mapping, stripping and channel sampling after Phil Sawdo discovered high-grade gold bearing float while prospecting along new logging roads. 1987: Morrison Minerals Ltd carried out an airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey from the western end of Lumby Lake to Wilson Lake. Several anomaly trends were identified. No follow-up work was carried out. Premier Lake Resources Limited carried out an exploration program focusing on the gold and base metal potential completing 24 km grid lines, magnetic, VLF-EM and induced polarization surveys followed by the drilling of 7 holes totaling 1213.7 m. 1992: Total Energold carried out work exploration work over Bufo Lake and to the south, east and west and around Bufo Lake focus mainly on gold. 1994-2003: Atikokan Resources Inc. completed a stripping program in 1995 exposing a high-grade silver-base metal occurrence. This was followed by a 120 km N-S grid, magnetic survey, VLF EM survey, (2) induced polarization surveys, detail geological mapping, soil geochemical survey plus several other areas of mechanical stripping. Two phases of drilling followed, 5 holes for 1214 m and 2 holes totalling 1170 m. 2010: Belmont Resources Inc. completed a a two phase 10 hole drill program totalling 2 444 m testing four targets .

Oct 12, 2016 (Andrew Tims) - 2011 Drilling confirmed multiple parallel gold bearing quartz carbonate veins and Fe-carbonate zones in all holes returning significant values of 17.9 g/t and 6.4 g/t over 1.5 meter interval. Bufo Lake area gold showing contines on strike for 500 meters and to a depth of 200 meters and is open in all three directions.
