Apr 29, 2020 (R Tuomi) - 1900: surface grab samples from SV107 assay 0.12 opt Au, surface grab samples from SV106 assay 0.29 opt Au.
Apr 29, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Patents SV106 and 107 are on the south side of Neepawa Island. The contact between metasediments and mafic metavolcanics crosses the island. Quartz porphyry dikes containing stringers of quartz intersect the schist in the vicinity of this contact. Some stripping has been done along the south shore of the island where there is a schist zone containing stringers of quartz and some pyrite. According to the management samples taken from the showing on S.V. 106 yielded an average of $5.00 per ton in gold (0.24 oz/t or 8.3 g/t Au based on $20.69 gold price for 1932) and those from the showing on S.V. 107, an average of $2.00 per ton in gold (0.10 oz/t or 3.3 g/t Au based on $20.69 gold price). Visible gold is said to have been found in a 4-foot quartz vein on S.V. 106 (Hurst, 1932). Some stripping and trenching was done on the shore of the lake near the centre of SV107. A heavily carbonatized zone about 100 feet wide containing disseminated pyrite and quartz stringers is in the volcanics north of the volcanic-sedimentary rock contact. A few narrow feldspar porphyry or fine-grained granodiorite dikes also occur in this zone and both dikes and the carbonatized zone are cut by quartz veinlets striking in three directions, N20E, S25W, and N85E. A grab sample of material taken from this area by F. Johnson assayed only a trace in gold (Johnson, 1972).
