Access Description: Float or ski equipped aircraft can land on Sturgeon Lake near the mouth of Post Creek. From the tip of a narrow bay at the mouth of the Post Creek the drill collar is located 800 m south. Boats and snowmobiles can reach the bay by any of the access points off Highway 599 from O Briens Landing to Cobb Bay.

Exploration and Mining History

1969: Norlex Mines Ltd. conducted an airborne magnetometer and EM survey. 1972: Norlex carried out geological mapping and magnetic and EM surveys. 1975: Norlex drilled 8 DDH totalling 1067.7 m.

01/25/2000 (R Tuomi) - Hole NX-12 was drilled through 84 feet of overburden into a section of rhyolite pebble conglomerate and rhyolite tuff containing minor sulphides. At 240 feet a 3 feet wide vein of white quartz which contained 1% pyrite assayed 0.055 ounce gold per ton.

02/04/2000 (R Tuomi) - 1975: drill hole NX-12 intersected a zone carrying 0.055 ounce gold per ton (1.88 g/t Au) and 0.01% Cu over 3 feet from a quartz vein containing approximately 1% pyrite and minor pyrrhotite (Assessment report 52G15NW0072).
