Mineralization Comments

Jan 29, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - The Mattabi ore body is a conformable stratabound zone accumulation of massive to semi-massive sulphides in a volcanic or volcanoclastic terrain. The ore body can be divided into two conformable beds, the upper and lower zones. These are divided by a unit of cherty rhyolite tuffs. Each ore zone has been subdivided into 5 facies: 1) high sphalerite ore, 2) high pyrite, low sphalerite ore, 3) massive chalcopyrite ore, 4) high galena ore, and 5) stringer ore and alteration pipe. Facies 1 to 4 all form part of the conformable massive sulphide portions of the ore and grade into each other. The fifth is more disseminated and locally disconformable (Franklin et al., 1977).
