Jun 21, 2017 (B Schnieders) - Pye (1955) describes this occurrence as follows: 'The deposit consists of a number of radioactive granitic dikes in granite gneisses. The main dike strikes east-west and dips 40 degrees N. It is highly radioactive, is stained yellowish and ranges from 2 to 8 feet in horizontal thickness. Bordering the dike on the two sides are radioactive altered zones up to 25 feet in horizontal width. The radioactive dikes are on claim TB67087-89 and TB67096. A grab sample obtained by Pye (1955) assayed 0.096 % U3O8. A grab sample collected by Scott (1987) in 1982 assayed 680 ppm uranium and 20 ppm thorium (Scott, 1987).
Jul 15, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - From former OGS staff member J. Scott: "I recall, after climbing to the top of the scarp (655 feet above the river) I walked what seemed forever along the edge of the scarp. It was getting late in the day and I had about 1.5 hours to get back to the canoe I had stashed on the river. Then I saw one more outcrop through the trees just before I was going to turn back, but decided to go to it. And the pegmatite was covered in yellow uranophane, a claim post. So I took some quick pictures, and a couple of samples. It seemed to me that the old claim map was wrong and it was out by more than a claim length. Pye said the showing extends through several claims (those shown) but I only found the o/c at the scarp's edge where the #2 post for TB 67096 was located in the bush. The claim map location for the post might be in error" (pers. comm, 2022).
