Lithology Comments

Sep 27, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - The area is underlain by east-trending, metamorphosed, folded and faulted Archean volcanic and sedimentary rocks. The metavolcanics range from massive and pillowed mafic lavas to intermediate and felsic pyroclastics. The metasediments consist of conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone, argillite, and minor iron formation. At this locality, light green asbestos occurs in a 20-foot long zone along fractures in a serpentinized peridotite dyke (Smith et al., 1982).
