Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (B Schnieders) - Copper and nickel mineralization occurs 3 miles northwest of Paddon lake, on claims held by L Adams. The host rock, altered anorthositic gabbro and anorthosite is locally serpentinized and holds interstitial grains of nickleiferous pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite. Massive sulphides are concentrated in short narrow northeast-trending shear zones. A small amount of platinum has been reported (Map P 416, Kustra 1966). Nickleiferous pyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite as disseminations and massive fracture fillings in narrow shear zones in anorthositic gabbro and anorthosite (Shklanka, 1969; MRC 12).
