Mineralization Comments

Apr 10, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - Mineralization is concentrated in a 100-foot wide mylonite zone striking NE and dipping 70SE. This zone cuts mafic volcanic and tuffaceous rocks which strike ENE and dip to the SSE. Within the mylonite zone, the mineralization is localized in quartz stockworks and individual quartz veins 0.25-2 inches wide. Quartz veins also occur in places in the volcanic rocks. Mineralization is sparse and consists of scatter grains of pyrite with traces of chalcopyrite and sphalerite. Malachite and azurite are developed along fractures. Grab samples taken by OGS staff P.C. Thurston and M.W. Carter during a property visit returned results of up to 0.33% Cu, 0.16% Zn, and 0.01 oz/t Au (Thurston and Carter, 1970). Samples collected by Carbec Mines in 1970 returned values of 0.11 oz/t Au, 19.25 oz/t Ag, 5.84% Cu, 1.07% Zn, 2.58% Pb (Assessment file 52I10SW0016).
