Mineralization Comments

Dec 03, 2014 (Therese Pettigrew) - Kennoco Explorations examined 10 claims centered on Fletcher Lake in 1957. Interest was centered on a zone of massive to disseminated pyrrhotite, pyrite and magnetite mineralization approximately ½ mile west of the northern end of Fletcher Lake. During 1957, the company conducted ground EM, magnetic, geochemical and geological survey as and exploration trenching but no significant base or precious metal mineralization was found. The mineralized zone is 50 m wide and extends for over 600 m parallel to the strike of the metavolcanic rocks (approximately N80W) and the tonalite-metavolcanics contact. The host rock of the mineralization is amphibolite which varies from massive to schistose and contains up to 30% garnet. The mineralization occurs as lenses and varies from massive to disseminated pyrrhotite and pyrite (Sutcliffe, 1988).
