Access Description: Light aircraft can land on Sturgeon Lake in the vicinity of the occurrence in summer and winter. Boats and snowmobiles can access the lake from access roads off Hwy.599 from Cobb Lake to Trappers Point.

Exploration and Mining History

1984: Falconbridge Nickel Mines Ltd. drilled a series of 5 holes totalling 662.9 m and carried out a soil sampling program.

Mineralization Comments

02/15/2000 (R Tuomi) - DDH SL-84-2 assayed 0.046 ounce gold per ton (1.57 g/t Au) over 0.76 m at a depth of 78 m in quartz-sericite-carbonate-clay altered granodiorite with 5% pyrite. This sample assayed 0.046 ounce gold per ton. A sample at 252.8 to 255.8 feet returned 0.02 ounce gold per ton (0.68 g/t Au) (Assessment report 52J02SE0082)
