Access Description: Trenches of the porphyry zone are located at the southeast corner of Pistol Lake and are best accessed by boat or canoe from the west end of King Bay. The trenched area is 450m southwest of the narrows between Pistol Lake and King Bay on the south shore of Pistol Lake. The collar of KB-26-83 is close to the trench.
1983: Steep Rock Resources Inc. drilled 1 DDH totalling 252.4 m. 1992: C. Kuryliew carried out prospecting and sampling. 1993: C. Kuryliew carried out prospecting, mapping, and trenching. 1994: C. Kuryliew drilled 2 DDH totalling 305.4 m.

02/14/2000 (R Tuomi) - The area to the southwest of King Bay of Sturgeon Lake has a halo of anomalous gold values which range from 100 ppb to 1000 ppb.
03/30/2020 (T Pettigrew) - The 1994 drilling located a significant, large sheared zone in the metavolcanics at the west end of Pistol Lake. It is postulated that these sheared and altered rocks are located where the metavolcanics abut against the sheared quartz-feldspar porphyry. The alteration in the sheared rock consists of narrow carbonate stringers both along the schistosity and as wiggly stringers across it. Pyritic mineralization is disseminated throughout. The sheared and sericitized tongue of quartz-feldspar porphyry within the shear zone is also a favourable factor. DDH 94-1 assayed up to 0.022 oz/t Au over 1 foot (0.75 g/t Au over 0.3 m) (Assessment report 52J02SW0002). DDH KB-27-83, drilled approximately 350 m away from the 1994 drill holes, on the SE side of Pistol Lake, returned up to 540 ppb from sheared mafic metavolcanics containing chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, and quartz calcite veins (Assessment report 52J02SW0043). Samples 5 through 9 collected in 1992 from a blue-grey quartz vein containing up to 15% arsenopyrite and pyrite returned assays of 0.12 to 0.274 oz/t Au (4.1 to 9.4 g/t Au). The host rock was a quartz-feldspar porphyry (Assessment report 52J02SW9201).
