Exploration History

1940s-1950: Westario Sulphur Mines ltd. surface work and diamond drilling on a pyrite zone. 1951: Candela Development Co. optioned the property. 1952: Candela drilled 3 DDH totalling 188 m approximately 850 m to the southwest of the pit. No assays reported.

Aug 09, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - Johnston (1966) shows a 3" (7.6 cm) quartz vein in an intermediate to mafic schistose greenstone.

Aug 09, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - Canadian Mines Handbook (1952) reported that Westario Sulphur Mines Ltd. worked a pyrite zone 2000 feet (610 m) long and an average of 25 feet (7.6 m) wide. No assays reported.
