Exploration History

1938: Carricona Gold MInes Ltd. was organized in 1938 to acquire the property. Surface work. 1944: at least 13 drill holes were completed (not recorded). 1980, Minorex Ltd. staked a portion of the property.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The southern and central parts of the property are underlain by mafic to intermediated flows and flow breccias. The northern third of the property is underlain by felsic volcanic rocks. Dikes of diorite, gabbro, quartz porphyry, feldspar porphyry and granite had been observed on the property.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The No. 2 showing consists of two trenches near the contact of felsic metavolcanics and a granodiorite dike. The zone is about 6.1 m wide and mineralization is associated with quartz stingers along the contact. The zone is reported to have a strike length in excess of 610.0 m. No assay results have been published, but it has been reported that free gold is in evidence and grab samples returned interesting values.
