Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - GEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION: The predominant rock types under the Ava property consist of felsic to intermediate volcanics. The general direction of strike in the metavolcanics is to the northeast. The volcanics have been intruded by numerous dikes of felsic to mafic composition. In the northwest part of the property dikes of qtz diorite intrude the volcanics. The general strike to all the dikes is about N40 deg East, whereas the schistocity and bedding within the metavolcanics is about N80 deg E. DEPOSIT DESCRIPTION: Gold values were obtained in a pyritiferous zone in a quartz feldspar porphyry dike. No information exists as to the site of the auriferous zone. GEOPHYSICAL DATA: Strong EM and MAG anomalies ocurr on the property, and probably represent zone of sulphide mineralization.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Grade 1937 grab sample: sample from southern portion of young prop. Reportedly assayed 0.03 opt Au. Grade 1963-64: assays as high as 0.16 opt Au, locations not known. In 1937, it was reported that a sample from the southern portion of the property returned an assay of 0.03 oz/ton (1.04 g/tonne). Madsen extensively sampled the property in 1963 and 1964 and obtained assays as high as 0.16 oz/ton (5.48 g/tonne), but sample locations are not known.
