Point Location Description: Quarry is located 24 km north of Direct Lake.
Location Method: Field Visit with GPS
Access Description: Quarry is located 45 km north of Kenora, 15 km east of Jones. Can be accessed via Jones Road and the Lount Lake Road.
Nelson Granite started production in 2000. 71 cubic metres of stone was removed in 2000. Yearly production is documented in the Kenora District ROAs.

Oct 13, 2022 (C Ravnaas) - The stone is a medium- to coarse-grained, porphyritic granite composed of potassic feldspar phenocrysts in a matrix of plagioclase, potassic feldspar, quartz and biotite.
