Lithology Comments

Jan 18, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - A major fault zone passes through the lake, close and roughly parallel to its north shore. At a point 500 feet south of the south shore of the lake, near its west end, minor amounts of chalcopyrite were observed in a large inclusion of paragneiss contained in massive granite (Carlson, 1957). Massive granite with paragneiss inclusions containing minor amounts of chalcopyrite. A sample from an eight foot trench in one of the inclusions 500 feet south of the south shore of the lake assayed 0.77% Cu. Other samples from the area assayed 0.1% Cu (SMDR 00499).

Mineralization Comments

Nov 13, 2014 (A Wilson) - The best assay from a drill hole completed in this area returned 2.06% Cu and 0.27% Ni over 0.3 ft. A sample taken across an 8-foot trench assayed 0.77% Cu.Minor amounts of chalcopyrite occur in a large inclusion of paragneiss within massive granite.

Jan 18, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - Two other zones of sulphides were located about half a mile east of Fortune Lake by geophysical work, but assays from drilling these zones only gave 0.1% Cu (Shklanka, 1969). Assays collected during Atikwa’s 2001 sampling program returned values of 4210-87100 ppm Cu and 200-2100 ppb Au (AFRI 52L07NE2003).
